I've got to tell you, I am getting REALLY excited about the Alumni Reunion in Atlanta this Labor Day weekend! We have a crack team of planners putting together all aspects of the gathering, but the most exciting part of the whole planning process is watching God working so mightily to make this weekend more than we could have ever asked or imagined!
We have put together a schedule to allow for some times of learning and refreshment. We will be asking some of our former professors and classmates to share and some of our favorite vocal and instrumental artists to try to recreate the magic that was such a great part of our FBC experience.
But first and foremost, the reunion is going to be a FUN TIME!
There will be plenty of unscheduled time to get together with old friends and reminisce about our past and dream about our future. And if there isn't enough for your taste, we promise not to make you "sign in for chapel" if you want to skip a meeting or two!
Some of the parts of the reunion that I am looking forward to are . . .
- Stan Hayes leading a Reunion Choir with selections from "Make It Clear!"
- A "Town Hall" style meeting to discuss the future of the Alumni Association
- The Saturday Night Banquet with lots of music and fellowship around the tables
- The Early Risers Bible study (if I am not up too late the nights before!)
- The Golf Tournament being planned by Doc Parrish
- Sitting around the Upper Lobby visiting with friends, many of whom I haven't seen in decades
We have added a reunion blog site that can be accessed from the www.floridabiblecollege.com web site that has a long (and growing) list of what we are seeing God add to the reunion experience. Check it out and make your plans to attend.
I am looking forward to visiting with you!
